Lee Jin-wook has shared some interesting behind-the-scenes details about his role in the popular Netflix series 'Sweet Home 2.' The show, which premiered on December 1st, follows the adventures of Hyeon-su (played by
Song Kang) and other survivors as they navigate a world filled with monsters after leaving their apartment complex.
Lee Jin-wook portrayed Jeong Yi-myeong, a character who undergoes a significant transformation, losing his humanity and believing that monsters are superior to humans. The actor revealed that he paid special attention to his facial expressions to differentiate between characters who shared the same face.
He was quoted by kbizoom, “As I age, the corners of my eyes droop, and how I look becomes gentler. Before filming ‘Sweet Home 2,’ I heard that Hollywood actors sometimes pull the hair behind their ears and cover the top of their heads to lift the corners of their eyes. Also, during photoshoots, they often use transparent tape near the ears and pull it to secure the sagging parts. So, after discussing with the director, I lifted the corners of my eyes with transparent tape and filmed. The challenging part was that it gave me a headache while doing it, but the result, my face, was satisfactory.”
Reflecting on the growth of the 'Sweet Home' Season 1 cast, including Song Kang, Go Min-si, Go Yoon-jung, and Lee Do-hyun, Lee Jin-wook expressed amazement at how far they've come. He shared, "It’s amazing that everything has turned out well. I’m not the type to approach others, so I feel content from a distance. At first, they were like chicks and knew nothing on set, but now it’s fascinating to see how much they have grown. I told Song Kang that life changes overnight, and he should be well-prepared, and it really happened.”
