A woman in Henan, China, put her boyfriend through an intense
childbirth simulation that lasted three hours, leaving him in such agony that he later required emergency surgery, reported Daily Star.
The woman explained on social media that her family had suggested the experience before their engagement, and her boyfriend agreed to try it. The couple visited a facility where participants can undergo electric muscle stimulation designed to mimic labor pain.
During the session, the woman gradually increased the intensity for the first 90 minutes. By level 8, her boyfriend was "shouting and struggling," and at level 12, he was sweating, crying, and cursing while breathing heavily. Despite his distress, he endured another 90 minutes at the highest level. When the ordeal ended, he collapsed, his abdomen described as "hard as a board."
Upon returning home, the man experienced severe
abdominal pain and persistent vomiting. His condition worsened over the following week, leading to an urgent hospital visit. Doctors discovered that part of his small intestine had become necrotic and performed emergency surgery to remove it.
His mother, furious over what had happened, immediately called off the wedding and barred the woman from visiting him in the hospital.
She also warned of possible legal action.
The woman shared her story online, but instead of sympathy, she faced heavy criticism. One commenter stated, "They should bear the consequences for doing such a reckless thing," while another remarked, "They are causing trouble for no reason." A third added, "It's not a bad idea to experience it for once, but to experience it for three hours is so absurd."
