Israel's deadly retaliation

Israel in response said that they were at 'war with Hamas', vowing to make them pay the price for their attack. Israel launched missile attacks into Gaza and ordered a complete siege of the territory; stopping electricity, food, aid and other essential supplies into Gaza. (AP photo)

Israel orders relocation to South Gaza

Israel ordered 1.1 million citizens located in North Gaza to relocate to the South as it amassed its troops on the borders. While the UN called on Israel to rescind its order, warning of devastating humanitarian consequences, Israel issued renewed warnings for residents to move from North Gaza or risk being categorized as a 'terrorist' partner. War moves beyond Gaza to Lebanon, Syria

Israel has engaged in clashes with the Lebanese militant organization Hezbollah. Hezbollah has reported 56 total casualties for the militant group since the onset of the conflict. Additionally, ten civilians, among them a Reuters journalist, lost their lives. Israeli airstrikes also disrupted the operations of two major Syrian airports. (PTI photo)

Massive hospital explosion claims hundreds of lives

A massive explosion struck Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza City, causing the deaths of hundreds of injured Palestinians and shelter-seekers, as reported by the health ministry led by Hamas. Israeli strikes refugee camps

An Israeli strike targeted Gaza's densely populated Jabalia refugee camp. At least 47 people were killed, including a Hamas commander linked to the October 7 attacks. Five hostages freed, many still captive

Hamas freed an American woman and her teenage daughter ​on October 20 followed by the release of 85-year-old ​Yocheved Lifshitz and another female hostage on October 24. One female soldier who was in captivity was also released. Approximately 200 individuals, however remain in captivity. (AP photo)

War impacts foreign diplomacy

US president Joe Biden, French president Emmanuel Macron and UK prime minister Rishi Sunak along with many other premiers paid visits to Israel since the October 7 attack to show solidarity. Many countries however, including Turkey, Colombia, Bahrain have severed ties with Israel over its 'disproportionate' bombings on Gaza.

Aid enters Gaza amidst collapse

Thousands of lives lost

Gaza's health ministry reported that in the month-long conflict between Israel and the militant group Hamas which controls the Palestinian territory, a total of 10,328 people have lost their lives, including thousands of children. Israelis hold a 'minute of silence'

On the one-month anniversary of the Hamas attack, Israelis observed a minute of silence for victims. Unlike Holocaust Remembrance Day and Memorial Day, this was held without a siren. Following the minute of silence, those in attendance sang the Israeli national anthem, Hatikva. (ANI photo)
