It reportedly cost about $40 million.Ratner’s selection for the project marks his return to filmmaking after years mostly outside the spotlight following multiple allegations of sexual misconduct. In 2017, amid the #MeToo movement, six women, including actresses Olivia Munn and Natasha Henstridge, accused Ratner of sexual harassment and inappropriate behaviour over several years. Allegations included unwanted sexual advances and misconduct on film sets and in private settings. Ratner’s agency and industry partners distanced themselves from him at the time, and he stepped away from many major projects.Ratner has denied the allegations and no criminal charges were brought against him in those cases.In December 2025, a photograph of Ratner surfaced in a batch of documents from the Department of Justice (DOJ) known as the Epstein files. The image shows him with Jean‑Luc Brunel, a French modelling agent and associate of late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, who died in prison while facing charges related to child sexual abuse.
