Jason Dickinson extended the Blackhawks' lead to 2-0 early in the second period with a well-placed wrist shot.
However, Montreal responded swiftly, cutting the deficit to 2-1 just 37 seconds later. Mitchell Stephens redirected Mike Matheson's one-timer for his first goal of the season. Josh Anderson then tied the game at 2-2 in the second period, tapping in Sean Monahan's pass for his fifth goal of the season.Juraj Slafkovsky gave the Canadiens their first lead by sliding in a rebound of a Suzuki shot. The Blackhawks pulled goaltender Petr Mrazek for an extra attacker in the closing minutes, but Savard sealed the victory with a length-of-the-ice empty-netter with 1:56 remaining.
The win extended Montreal's point streak to five games (3-0-2), highlighting their resilience and ability to bounce back from early setbacks. The Blackhawks, on the other hand, suffered their fifth loss in the last six games.(With Reuters inputs)
