Alliance tallies shift across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and the numbers are moving quickly. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively lead in enough seats to hold a tally of 115, just three short of that mark, with 10 seats won and 105 leads. SPA has a tally of 60, with 7 won and 53 leading, while NDA is at 55 seats on leads alone. In West Bengal, BJP has crossed the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house on its tally of 179, with 11 seats won and 168 leads, if those leads hold. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading seats. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA holds a tally of 18 in the 30-seat assembly where 16 are needed, with 13 seats already won and 5 leads, placing it on course to cross the majority mark if those leads hold. SPA has a tally of 5 in Puducherry. In Kerala, UDF leads with a tally of 87 across the 140-seat house, having won 68 seats and leading in 19 more, well past the majority mark of 71 if those leads hold. LDF trails with a tally of 36, with 30 won and 6 leading. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 seats in Kerala.
