Alliance standings across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and the union territory of Puducherry, with leads shifting as rounds progress. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller-party candidates cumulatively lead in enough seats to hold a tally of 115, just three short of the majority mark, with 10 seats already decided in their favour. SPA holds a tally of 60, having won 7 and leading in 53, while NDA is at a tally of 55 with all seats still in the leading column. In West Bengal, BJP has crossed the majority mark of 148 on tally, sitting at 179 across 11 won and 168 leading seats in the 294-seat house. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA has crossed the majority mark of 16 in the 30-seat assembly, with a tally of 18 built on 13 won and 5 leading seats. SPA has a tally of 5, while independent and smaller-party candidates hold a combined tally of 7 in the union territory. Kerala's 140-seat assembly requires 71 for a majority. UDF leads the count with a tally of 87, having won 68 and leading in 19, putting it well past the majority threshold on current tallies. LDF is trailing at 36, with 30 won and 6 leading. Independent and smaller-party candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 in Kerala.
