Alliance tallies shift across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and results are taking shape at a rapid pace. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats mark the majority in a 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 115 seats, with 10 declared and 105 leads still in play, leaving them just 3 short of the majority mark. SPA holds a tally of 60, while NDA is at 55. In West Bengal, BJP has crossed the majority mark of 148 on tally, with 11 seats won and 168 leads giving it a combined count of 179 in the 294-seat house. TMC trails with a tally of 106, having won 2 and leading in 104. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 16 in the 30-seat assembly, with 13 seats won and 5 leads adding up to a tally of 18. SPA has a tally of 5 there. In Kerala, UDF holds a tally of 87 in the 140-seat house, having won 68 and leading in 19, comfortably past the majority mark of 71. LDF trails with a tally of 36, having won 30 and leading in 6.
