Alliance standings across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and results are taking shape at different paces. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats mark the majority in a 234-seat house, independent and smaller party candidates collectively hold a tally of 115 seats, with 10 declared wins and 105 leads, sitting just 3 seats short of the majority mark. SPA has a tally of 60, with 7 won and 53 leading, while NDA is at 55 seats, all in leads with no wins declared yet. In West Bengal, BJP is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat assembly. The party has won 11 seats and is leading in 168 more, giving it a tally of 179. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. Puducherry, with a majority mark of 16 in its 30-seat assembly, sees NDA holding a tally of 18, with 13 seats won and 5 in leads, placing it on course to cross the majority mark if those leads hold. SPA has a tally of 5 there, with 2 won and 3 leading. In Kerala's 140-seat house, where 71 seats are needed for a majority, UDF holds a tally of 87, with 68 seats won and 19 in leads, already leading in enough seats to be well past the majority mark. LDF trails with 30 won and 6 leading, for a tally of 36. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 seats in Kerala.
