Alliance standings across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and results are taking shape at varying paces. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 115 seats, with 10 declared wins and 105 leads, leaving them just 3 short of the majority mark. SPA has a tally of 60, with 7 won and 53 leading, while NDA is at 55, all leads and no declared wins so far. In West Bengal, BJP is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house if those leads hold. BJP has won 11 and is leading in 168 more, giving it a tally of 179. TMC has won 2 and is leading in 104, for a tally of 106. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA has crossed the majority mark of 16 in the 30-seat assembly on current trends, with 13 seats won and 5 leads, putting its tally at 18. SPA has a tally of 5, with 2 won and 3 leading. Kerala's 140-seat assembly requires 71 seats for a majority. UDF leads in enough seats to cross that mark if the trends hold, with 68 seats won and 19 leading for a tally of 87. LDF has won 30 and is leading in 6, giving it a tally of 36. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 seats in Kerala.
