Alliance tallies shift across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and results are shaping up at a brisk pace. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 115 seats, with 10 declared wins and 105 leads, leaving them just 3 short of the majority mark. SPA has a tally of 60, with 7 won and 53 leading, while NDA is at 55, all leads and no declared wins yet. In West Bengal, BJP is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house, holding a tally of 179 with 11 won and 168 leading. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading seats, while candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats. In Puducherry, NDA has a tally of 18 in the 30-seat assembly where 16 are needed for a majority, with 13 declared wins and 5 leads, putting it on course to cross the majority mark if those leads hold. SPA stands at a tally of 5. In Kerala, UDF leads in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 71 in the 140-seat house, with a tally of 87 comprising 68 won and 19 leading. LDF has a tally of 36, with 30 won and 6 leading, while candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17.
