Alliance tallies shift across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and the numbers are moving quickly. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats mark the majority in a 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively lead in enough seats to hold a tally of 115, just three short of that mark. SPA has a tally of 60 seats, with 7 won and 53 leading, while NDA stands at 55, all in leads. No alliance has crossed the majority threshold yet in Tamil Nadu. In West Bengal, BJP is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house if those leads hold, carrying a tally of 179 with 11 seats won and 168 in hand. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. Puducherry's 30-seat assembly requires 16 for a majority, and NDA is leading in enough seats to cross that mark, holding a tally of 18 with 13 already won and 5 leading. SPA has a tally of 5 in the union territory, with 2 won and 3 leading. In Kerala, UDF has a tally of 87 across the 140-seat house where 71 is the majority mark, with 68 seats won and 19 in leads, placing it well past the threshold if current trends hold. LDF trails with 30 won and 6 leading for a tally of 36.
