Alliance tallies shift across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and the numbers are moving quickly. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively lead in enough seats to hold a tally of 115, just three short of the majority mark, with 10 seats already decided in their favour. SPA has a tally of 60, with 7 seats won and 53 leads, while NDA is at 55 on leads alone with no seats declared yet. In West Bengal, BJP has crossed the majority mark of 148 on its tally, holding leads in 168 seats with 11 won, giving it a combined tally of 179 across the 294-seat house. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading seats. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA has won 13 seats and leads in 5 more for a tally of 18 in the 30-seat assembly, already past the majority mark of 16. SPA has a tally of 5, with 2 won and 3 leads. Kerala's 140-seat assembly requires 71 for a majority. UDF leads the count with 68 seats won and 19 more leads, giving it a tally of 87, well past the majority mark if those leads hold. LDF has won 30 seats and leads in 6, taking its tally to 36. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 seats in Kerala.
