Alliance standings across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and the union territory of Puducherry, with leads still shifting in several constituencies. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 115 seats, just 3 short of the majority mark, with 10 seats won and 105 leads. SPA has a tally of 60, with 7 won and 53 leading, while NDA is at 55, all leads. In West Bengal, BJP is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house, holding a tally of 179, with 11 won and 168 leading. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA has a tally of 18 in the 30-seat assembly where 16 are needed for a majority, with 13 seats already won and 5 leads, putting it in a position to cross the majority mark if those leads hold. SPA has a tally of 5 in Puducherry. In Kerala, UDF leads in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 71 in the 140-seat assembly, with a tally of 87 comprising 68 won and 19 leading. LDF trails with 30 won and 6 leading, giving it a tally of 36. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 seats in Kerala.
