Alliance tallies shift across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and results are shaping up at a brisk pace. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats mark the majority in a 234-seat house, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 115 seats, with 10 won and 105 leads, sitting just 3 short of the majority mark. SPA has a tally of 60 seats, with 7 won and 53 leading, while NDA is at 55, all leads and no wins declared yet. In West Bengal, BJP has crossed the majority mark of 148 in a 294-seat assembly on the strength of its tally, with 11 seats won and 168 leads adding up to 179, though declared wins alone are still well short. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading seats. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA leads the 30-seat assembly with 13 seats won and 5 more leading, giving it a tally of 18 and crossing the majority mark of 16. SPA has a tally of 5 in Puducherry, with 2 won and 3 leading. In Kerala, UDF holds a tally of 87 in the 140-seat house, with 68 seats won and 19 leading, well past the majority mark of 71. LDF trails with 30 won and 6 leading, for a tally of 36. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 seats in Kerala.
