Alliance tallies shift across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and results are shaping up at a brisk pace. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 115, with 10 seats won and leads in 105 more, leaving them just 3 short of the majority mark. SPA has a tally of 60, with 7 won and 53 leading, while NDA is at 55, all from leads. In West Bengal, BJP has crossed the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house on the strength of its tally of 179, having won 11 seats and leading in 168. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA holds a tally of 18 in the 30-seat assembly where 16 are needed for a majority, with 13 seats already won and leads in 5 more, placing it well past the majority mark if those leads hold. SPA has a tally of 5, with 2 won and 3 leading. In Kerala, UDF leads the 140-seat assembly count with a tally of 87, having won 68 seats and leading in 19, comfortably past the majority mark of 71. LDF has a tally of 36, with 30 won and 6 leading. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 in Kerala.
