NDA, BJP, UDF lead as counting progresses across four states
Votes are being counted across Assam, West Bengal, Puducherry, and Kerala, with leads shifting as rounds come in. In Assam, where 64 seats are needed for a majority in the 126-seat assembly, NDA holds a tally of 97, having won 28 and leading in 69 more. The Congress-led opposition has a tally of 22, all in leads, while candidates from other parties or independents cumulatively account for a tally of 7. NDA's tally has already crossed the majority mark, though declared wins are still accumulating. In West Bengal's 294-seat house, where the majority mark stands at 148, BJP leads the count with a tally of 179, comprising 11 won seats and leads in 168 constituencies. TMC trails with a tally of 106, having won 2 and leading in 104. Candidates from other parties or independents cumulatively hold a tally of 8 in West Bengal. BJP's tally has crossed the majority mark if those leads hold. Puducherry, with its 30-seat assembly and a majority mark of 16, sees NDA on a tally of 18, with 13 seats won and leads in 5 more, already past the threshold on current numbers. SPA has a tally of 5, with 2 won and 3 leading. Candidates from other parties or independents cumulatively hold a tally of 7 in Puducherry. In Kerala, where 71 seats decide a majority across 140 constituencies, UDF commands a tally of 87, with 68 seats won and leads in 19, crossing the majority mark on current trends. LDF has a tally of 36, with 30 won and 6 leading. Candidates from other parties or independents cumulatively hold a tally of 17 in Kerala.
