Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani

The story of 'Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani' is a love story set in 1945 between a King and a commoner’s daughter, who then goes on to become his queen. Drashti Dhami plays the role of Gayatri daughter of a rich money lender. While she is considered an insignificant part of her own family, Rana Indravadhan Singh Deo (Siddhant Karnick) decides to marry her for political gains. Initially he is unable to give her the position of his wife as he is still in love with his first wife, who died while he was away at waging wars in Wold War 2. The story revolves around how he falls in love with Gayatri and how she helps him become the most loved couple of the kingdom. To showcase a realistic view of the 1940s, the makers have shot the show across various locations in Rajasthan as well as setting up an expensive set on the outskirts of Mumbai. The 'big budget' show will also feature polo matches, imperial balls, vintage cars and expensive costumes and jewellery.

Drashti Dhami to dance on 'Deewani Mastani' in 'Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani'

Zee TV's, Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani, has been churning out some high voltage drama lately. After the big revelation of Badi Rani Ma (Surekha Sikri) being the culprit behind Ranaji’s wife Sulakshana's death, the show is now geared up to witness some more drama. In upcoming episodes, Gayatri would be dancing to the Deewani Mastani song from Bajirao Mastani. Sulakshna's look-alike (Ranaji's first wife) will force her to dance at her birthday celebration in front of everyone.

Is Ranaji married to a con girl in 'Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani'

The high voltage drama still continues in Zee TV’s 'Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani' as Ranaji’s first wife enters the plot. The lady who comes as Sulakshana is actually a con girl, Jhumki. Astha Aggarwal will be seen playing this role. According to sources, it will be shown that Badi Rani will hire her to create misunderstandings between Ranaji and Gayatri. Rajmata will get Jhumki a mask of Sulakshana’s face and ask her to pretend as a dutiful bahu.

Mukul Nag aka TV's Sai Baba to feature as Pir in 'Ek Tha Raja'

Popular TV actor Mukul Nag, who has featured the role of Sai Baba in many TV shows, has now turned Pir baba. The actor will be portraying a sufi saint in Zee TV's 'Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani'. According to the upcoming plot, the baba will save Gayatri who is flighting for her life after she was bit by a snake. Later on, Ranaji would take Gayatri to the baba to get her healed.

Swarnalekha to get sexually harassed in 'Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani'

In the upcoming episodes of 'Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani', we will come across two different plots. On one side, we will see Gayatri's and Ranaji's love story and on the other side will see Lakshyaraj plotting against his wife Swarnalekha. Lakshyaraj, who doesn't feel for his wife, will physically abuse and rape her. His main idea is to hurt her emotionally. Somehow, Swarnalekha would escape from the room to tell everyone about her husband's awful attempt. This will make Lakshyaraj angry and he would smear her face with red chilly powder and would lock her in a dark room. Later on, when Gayatri would be looking for her, she will be informed that Swarnalekha is unwell and resting in her room. But Gayatri would find something doubtful going on in the palace.

Gayatri challenges Ranaji to make him fall in love

Kokila doesn’t let go of any opportunity to humiliate Gayatri about what happened. Gayatri on the other hand is broken as a person until Damyanti encourages her. Sethji goes and meets his daughter and apologizes for what he did. He also encourages her to fight her battle. A confident, Gayatri goes and clarifies her stand with Ranaji and challenges to make him fall in love with her by Karvachauth.

She even promises him to prove the power of her love. Meanwhile, Ranaji challenges her back saying that he will soon collect all the money and pay off the debt so that she no longer stays married to him. Gayatri agrees that even she will help him meet his target as it is her duty as his wife. However, she tells him that she is confident her love will still win.

Gayatri to be crowned Queen in 'Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani'

Despite all the efforts by Lakshyaraj (Ajay Arya) and CV (Akshay Anand) and Kokila (Parull Choudhry), Rajmata (Anita Raj) is able to convince Ranaji (Siddhant Karnick) to bring Gayatri back home from the pagpheras in time. Later, Gayatri tries to organize a good Rajbhog in a limited budget. However, during her coronation Gayatri will have a heated argument with Wilkinson who is supposed to declare her queen officially about Britishers’ presence in India. It will be later revealed that Kokila had spiked Gayatri's drink and whatever she did was under the influence of drug. Everyone will try to calm down an angry Wilkinson but finally Ranaji will challenge him for a sword fight. As per the challenge if he loses he will have crown the new queen. After an intense battle, Ranaji will finally win and Gayatri will be declared the new Queen. After all this drama, Swarnalekha will help her come out of the influence of the drug.

Gayatri punishes herself

Gayatri is upset with herself as because of her, Indravadhan did not have breakfast. Thus, she decides to punish herself by staying hungry. Later, Gayatri's brothers visit her and ask her to come home to complete some rituals. On the other hand, Indravadhan declines to inaugurate the Raj Bhog as the Raj Mahal is under immense loan. Gayatri shows up at the scene and tells that the Raj Bhog would definitely be inaugurated and she herself would take the responsibility of it. While Gayatri is explaining as to how she would manage to provide the Raj Bhog, Kuwar's son questions her that from where she would bring meat.

The wedding of Indravadhan and Gayatri commences successfully but Kokila does not leave a single chance to hurt Indravadhan. She gifts Gayatri a jewellery that once upon a time was gifted to Sulakshana as well. When Indravadhan picks up the sindhoor to apply it to Gayatri's forehead, he finds the jewellery and remembers his late wife, Sulakshana. Lost in the thoughts of his past, Indravadhan continues with the rituals. On the other hand, Kuwar, Kokila and their son talk about their loss as they were unable to carry out any of their plans. Just then, Kokila replies that from hereafter, she would turn Gayatri's life miserable.

Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani: The Maha episode

The Mahaepisode will see the beginning of the marriage ceremony as the nariyal containing the bomb travels from one place to another as Lakshyaraj and Saroj try to get it placed at the target area. Meanwhile, Chandravadan and Kokila try their best to sabotage the wedding with Badi rani maa also trying to convince Ranaji to call it off. The Mahaepisode will culminate most likely with Gayatri managing to save Ranaji and herself from the bomb and the death of Saroj who claims to have committed suicide due to fear of being found out as the culprit but we later reveal his death was actually murder by his own Lakshyaraj who was afraid of being caught out.

'Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani' actor quits show

Zee TV's 'Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani' has hit its first road block. Television actor Pawan Mahendru, who has been part of TV industry for quite some time now, has moved out of the project. Pawan was seen playing the role of Diwanji was not satisfied with his character hence he decided to move out of the show. Pawan confirmed and shared, "When I was approached to be part of the show I was said that I will get to shoot 15 days a month. But since the last three months, I have hardly shot for 10 days. I was seeing no character progression hence I decided to quit the show." He added, "I have dropped a sms to the makers but there is no reply from their end. I have already started looking out for another shows."

Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani: Episode 16

Gayatri's mother tells Gopal Seth that they have seen enough of what Gayatri is doing and the freedom given to her is making her choose the wrong ways. She tells Gopal Seth that Gayatri should get married soon or they would have to watch lot of such scenes. The next day, a match arrives for Gayatri and the man who wishes to marry Gayatri is much older in age. While on the other hand, Indravadhan asks her mother not to worry about the loan that she has taken from Gopal Seth. He assures Rajmata that he would find a solution for this problem. Will Gayatri accept to marry the man?
