Salman Khan and Sangeeta Bijlani were in a steady relationship during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Their relationship was quite serious, and they were even rumoured to be on the verge of getting married.
In an earlier appearance on Koffee with Karan, Salman Khan reflected on his past desire to get married, particularly recalling the time he almost tied the knot with Sangeeta Bijlani.
When asked by Karan Johar if the marriage had ever been on his mind, Salman admitted that there was a time when he seriously considered it and mentioned that wedding cards had even been printed. Karan then jokingly inquired if Sangeeta had caught him doing something, to which Salman, laughing, denied any such incident.
Despite the breakup, Salman and Sangeeta have maintained a cordial relationship. Sangeeta is often seen at family gatherings and events hosted by Salman Khan’s family, and the two have remained on friendly terms over the years. Sangeeta, who won the Miss India title in 1980, transitioned into Bollywood with films. After their relationship ended, she went on to marry cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin in 1996, though they later divorced.
Meanwhile, Salman is immersed in the production of 'Sikandar', an action-packed film directed by AR Murugadoss. The highly anticipated movie boasts a star-studded cast, including Rashmika Mandanna, Prateik Babbar, and 'Baahubali' fame Sathyaraj. The film is set to hit theatres on Eid 2025.
