Planning to buy TVS Ronin? You might want to wait for this

The TVS Ronin range could soon get a new twist, and if you are planning to buy one, it might be worth holding on for a bit longer. TVS Motor Company has filed a design patent for a café racer version of the Ronin. While the company has not confirmed a launch timeline yet, the filing of a design patent usually indicates intent to explore production possibilities.

TVS Ronin Cafe Racer: What to expect

While the standard Ronin has been around since 2022, interestingly, this is not the first time such a concept has surfaced. TVS had earlier showcased a cafe racer-style Ronin at its MotoSoul event. Now with the patent officially filed, the idea seems to be moving closer to reality.

From the design sketches, the biggest highlight is the front-end styling. The bike features a retro cafe racer fairing built around a circular headlamp, topped with a curved windscreen. The riding stance is expected to be more aggressive, thanks to low-set clip-on handlebars and rear-set footpegs.


Other changes that we can spot include a single-piece seat with an integrated rear cowl, along with a short, upswept exhaust.

Under the skin, the mechanical setup is likely to remain unchanged. The cafe racer variant is expected to use the same 225.9cc single-cylinder engine that produces around 20 bhp and 20 Nm of torque. This motor comes paired with a 5-speed gearbox and an assist and slipper clutch. Suspension duties will likely be handled by USD fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear, with disc brakes on both ends.
