BMW cars to become expensive from April! Price hike details
Luxury carmaker BMW Group India has announced a price hike across its model range, with new prices set to come into effect from April 1, 2026. The company said that cars under both the BMW and MINI brands will see an increase of up to 2 per cent.
The automaker has attributed the decision to rising input costs. Increasing logistics expenses, higher material costs and the impact of a depreciating rupee have all contributed to the move. The price revision, the company says, is aimed at maintaining the level of quality, performance and service that customers expect from the brand.
BMW Group India also highlighted that its financing arm will continue to support buyers with tailored financial solutions. These include flexible EMI options, reduced interest rates on select models, assured buy-back plans and multiple end-of-term choices.
The company currently assembles several models locally in India, including the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, X1, X3, X5, X7, and the all-electric iX1 Long Wheelbase. Alongside these, it offers a range of imported models such as the i5, i7, iX, Z4 M40i, M2 Coupe, M4 Competition, M5 and M8 Competition Coupe. MINI models like the Cooper S, Countryman range and Convertible are also brought in as completely built units.
The price hike announcement comes on the back of a strong year for the company. BMW Group India reported its highest-ever annual sales in 2025, with 18,001 cars sold, marking a 14 per cent year-on-year growth. Electric models like the BMW i7 and iX1 performed particularly well, with the iX1 emerging as the highest-selling premium EV in the country.
