Hyundai Creta electric bookings open at Rs 25,000: Launch date, expected price, deliveries and more
Hyundai Motor India revealed the much anticipated Hyundai Creta EV SUV in the Indian market. The new electric SUV from Hyundai will be showcased to the public at the upcoming 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo. When launched, the Creta EV will directly compete with the MG ZS EV, Mahindra XUV 400, Tata Curvv EV, and the recently launched Mahindra Be6e. It will also go up against the upcoming Harrier EV and the Honda Elevate EV. With the launch of the Creta EV, the SUV will be broadly available in multiple engine options - all-electric, turbo petrol, NA petrol and turbo diesel.
Ahead of the official launch, the company has started accepting bookings for the new Creta EV. Interested customers can book the SUV online or by visiting their nearest Hyundai dealership. The booking amount is set at Rs 25,000 and the prices are expected to begin from Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom). There is no information on when the deliveries could begin.
The Creta EV will be offered in four variants- Executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence. Colour options include 8 monotone and 2 dual-tone colour options including 3 matte colours. The entry-level Executive and Smart trims are limited to just two colour choices and do not include the dual-tone roof options. Only the mid-range Smart (O) variant, along with the higher-end Premium and Excellence trims, provide the full range of exterior paint options.
Let’s talk about the battery pack and range, the Creta EV will be offered with two battery options - 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh packs with an ARAI-rated range of 390 km and 473 km, respectively. There are no details on the e-motor, however, it will get a single PMSM electric motor with an FWD setup. The top-spec Excellence variant is not offered with the smaller 42 kWh battery and the larger 51.4 kWh battery is exclusively offered with the mid-level and top-tier trims.
Hyundai claims the Creta Electric with a bigger battery pack can sprint from 0 to 100kph in 7.9 seconds. It will have three drive modes – Eco, Normal and Sport – and it will also get a steering column-mounted drive mode selector, as seen in the Ioniq 5. The EV can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 58 minutes using a DC fast charger. Meanwhile, the 11kW AC wall box charger takes 4 hours to charge the battery from 10% to 100%.
In terms of features, the Creta EV gets dual 10.25-inch screens - one for the infotainment and one for the instrument cluster and it will also get a new steering wheel as seen on Kona sold overseas. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and powered seats, automatic climate control, vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology, 360-degree camera, digital key and ADAS suite.
