Mahindra Thar 3-door facelift spied: Roxx inspired styling & more
The Mahindra Thar 3-door facelift has been spotted testing on Indian roads, with the front and rear heavily camouflaged. While the SUV received an update in October 2025, the latest spy shots suggest further revisions, with design elements inspired by the Thar Roxx. There is no official timeline for its launch yet, though it is expected sometime this year, and mechanically, the SUV is likely to remain unchanged with the same set of engine and gearbox options. The updated Thar 3-door is expected to be priced slightly higher than the current model, which ranges from Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 17.19 lakh, with prices likely to start from around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
As shown in the image, the updated Thar 3-door adopts several design elements from the Thar Roxx, particularly in its lighting and bumper design. Spy images indicate a revised front end with circular LED headlamps replacing the current halogen units, along with C-shaped DRLs and a reworked six-slat grille with a split layout. The bumper and turn indicators also appear to have been updated.
Changes along the sides are likely to be limited to a new design for the alloy wheels, with the overall silhouette remaining unchanged. At the rear, the LED tail-lamps appear to feature revised internal detailing similar to the Thar Roxx. Overall, the facelift is expected to retain the SUV’s existing proportions while introducing styling updates aligned with Mahindra’s latest design direction.
As mentioned before, mechanically the SUV will remain same with same set of powertrain options, a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, a 2.2-litre diesel unit and a 1.5-litre diesel engine for rear-wheel-drive variants. Transmission options are likely to continue with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearboxes. Four-wheel drive is expected to remain available with the 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines, while certain variants will continue with rear-wheel drive.
