Skoda India recalls 221 Kodiaq SUVs: What owners need to know
Skoda Auto India has announced a recall affecting a limited number of its flagship SUV, the Kodiaq. As per information listed on the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) website, a total of 221 units are part of this exercise. These vehicles were manufactured between March 10, 2025, and December 8, 2025.
The recall has been initiated due to a concern related to the front seat structure. Specifically, the issue lies with the edge of the inner frame of the front seats. This defect could potentially impact the performance of the side airbags in the event of deployment. In a crash scenario, it may reduce the effectiveness of the side airbags, increasing the risk of injury to occupants.
Skoda is expected to proactively contact owners of the affected vehicles in the coming weeks. The company will carry out a detailed inspection and undertake the necessary corrective measures at no cost to the customer.
The current-generation Kodiaq, which was introduced in India in April 2025, continues to be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. This unit produces 204 hp and 320 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed DCT, and the SUV comes with an all-wheel-drive system as standard across variants. Skoda claims an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 14.86 kmpl for the model.
Owners of the affected units are advised to await official communication from Skoda and get the issue addressed at authorised service centres once notified.
