​Toyota at Japan Mobility Show 2023: Land Cruiser EV, electric wheelchair, lunar rover

The Land Cruiser Se is the fully-electric concept version of the legendary SUV. It gets a 7-seat layout and a monocoque construction with a 3,050 mm long wheelbase.

The Toyota EPU is a next-gen mid-size pickup truck concept, with a monocoque body, a double cab design, monocoque structure. A low center of gravity ensures superior handling stability and ride comfort.

An experimental vehicle for that is aimed at creating mobility for use on the moon and in outer space. Each wheel is fitted with its own electric motor and steering to provide safe, reliable driving in rugged extraterrestrial environments. It is capable of navigating boulders up to 50 cm tall and climbing 25°slopes. The technology honed through this will be used in space mobility vehicles like Toyota Lunar Cruiser.

The JUU electric wheelchair is a new concept designed to offer the freedom to travel anywhere unassisted. When climbing or descending a stairway, the two large powered wheels on the sides traverse the steps, while the retractable tail flips down from behind the backrest to prevent tipping and stabilize the wheelchair. The JUU automatically maintains an optimal posture and can negotiate steps up to 16 cm tall.

The Land Hopper is a three-wheeled electric personal mobility concept that can be ridden without a driver's license (by those aged 16 or older). It expands user's scope of travel and supports independence at different life stages, including serving as mobility for seniors who choose to give up their licenses.

The NEO Steer is a new cockpit concept based on motorcycle handlebars, integrating the functions of the accelerator and brake pedals into the steering wheel. Aims to offer safe hand-operated driving for users with lower limb impairments, while also enabling an unrestricted driving position along with smooth entry and exit.
