Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast's founder has launched V-Green, a new EV charging stations company aimed at bolstering support for VinFast vehicles globally. Billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong, holding a 90% stake in V-Green, revealed plans for the company to serve as a global partner, facilitating the development of an extensive charging infrastructure.

Vuong emphasized V-Green's commitment to actively seeking locations and partnerships to expand the charging network in key VinFast markets. Notably, VinFast, founded by Vuong in 2017 and listed on the Nasdaq last year, aims to extend its presence to at least 50 countries in 2024.

In Vietnam, V-Green will manage VinFast's existing charging network and explore opportunities to provide charging services to other EV manufacturers after a five-year period. The company has earmarked approximately $404 million over the next two years for expanding and upgrading charging outlets. Vuong's initiatives in the electric vehicle sector also include founding EV taxi operator Green SM, which contributed significantly to VinFast's sales in 2023.
