Chinese mobile manufacturer Xiaomi recently showcased its first electric car - SU7 in India. Xiaomi - Primarily recognized as a smartphone brand and specializing in consumer electronic devices across various sectors, the company is now entering the EV market. In this slideshow, let’s take a look at everything you need to know about the SU7.

The SU7 was globally unveiled back in December 2023. In terms of design, the EV looks similar to the Porsche Taycan and BYD seal due to its low-slung design. It gets teardrop-shaped LED headlights and features a sleek design with an aerodynamic silhouette with an air drag coefficient of 0.195.

At the rear, it features connected LED tail lights that stretch across the width of the car. It gets discreet reflectors with black elements below which gives it a clean look. Overall, the design of the SU7 is unique, it provides a sharp, futuristic look that stands out on the road.

​In terms of dimensions, the EV measures 4,997mm in length, 1,963mm in width and 1,455mm in height and has a 3,000mm wheelbase. It comes with a 105 liter front frunk and a 517-liter boot space.

The EV also gets an active rear wing which automatically adjusts its position based on driving conditions to optimize aerodynamics, to improve stability at higher speeds. When deployed, the wing increases downforce, providing better traction and handling, particularly during high-speed manoeuvres or sudden braking.

The SU7 is offered in three variants - SU7, SU7 Pro and SU7 Max. The one showcased in India was the top-of-the-line SU7 Max with dual-motor setup.

Moving inside, the Xiaomi SU7 Features a minimalistic interior with a three-spoke steering wheel and 16.1-Inch touchscreen; includes Porsche-inspired autonomous driving and boost mode buttons

In terms of features, the SU7 gets a 7-inch digital driver’s display, HUD display, wireless phone charging, rear entertainment screens, panoramic glass roof, powered front seats with active side support and a 25-speaker sound system. In terms of safety, it gets seven airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control and advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) using LiDAR technology with features including automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and adaptive high beam.

The SU7 comes with three battery options: a 73.6kWh pack providing up to 700km range with rear-wheel drive, a 94.3kWh pack offering up to 830km range with RWD, and a 101kWh battery in the SU7 Max trim with all-wheel drive, delivering a range of 800km (claimed).

The top-of-the-line SU7 puts out 673hp and 838Nm of peak torque and can sprint from 0-100kph time of just 2.78 seconds. Both RWD trims put out 299hp and 400Nm of torque. The top-spec SU7 Max has a top speed of 265kph.
