Best-selling electric car manufacturers in India: Tata Motors, MG, Mahindra and more

Tata Motors (Tata.ev)

Tata Motors recently renamed its EV arm to Tata.ev, with the company currently offering three electric cars in India - Nexon.ev, Tiago.ev, and Tigor.ev. With 4,613 units sold, Tata Motors was the top-selling 4W EV manufacturer.

2. MG Motor India

MG Motor offers two electric cars in India in the form of ZS EV electric SUV and Comet EV - India's most affordable electric car. MG came second in the month of August '23 with 1,150 EVs sold.

3. Mahindra & Mahindra

With just one EV in its portfolio, Mahindra was third on the list, selling 376 units of the XUV400 last month.

4. Hyundai Motor India

Hyundai's IONIQ 5 and Kona EV helped it achieve the fourth spot, with 182 units sold in August 2023 in India.

5. PSA Groupe (Citroen)

PSA Groupe currently offers one EV in India i.e. the Citroen eC3. Citroen managed to sell 111 units of the eC3 in the Indian market last month.

6. BYD

China's BYD came sixth on the list, thanks to the Atto 3 electric SUV and e6 MPV. BYD sold 93 units of the Atto 3 and e6 combined in the country in August 2023.
