First fully-electric flying car 'Alef Model A': All you need to know

Alef Model A approved by the US FAA

​The Alef Model A flying car has received a Special Airworthiness Certification from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The company claims that it is the first fully-electric flying car to receive legal approval from the US government for road/air testing. According to the Code of Federal Regulations, Alef must report any defects during 'Model A' development to the US govt.

Alef Model A: Design

Featuring a futuristic flowy shape, the Alex flying car gets eight propellers placed inside the body. The fully-electric flying car has a seating capacity of one or two persons as of now, however, the company aims to build a flying car with more seating capacity soon.

Alef Model A will offer 177 km flying range

Alef Model A flying car has vertical takeoff and landing capabilities, claims the company. The Alef flying car will offer a claimed range of 322 km (200 miles) on the road and a flying range of 177 km (110 miles).

Alef flying car pre-orders open

The company says it has received strong pre-order requests from customers and companies of the flying car. On its official website, the company has commenced the pre-bookings at a token amount of $150 for the general queue and $1,500 for the priority queue.

Alef Model A expected price

Alef Model A fully-electric flying car is likely to be priced from $2,99,999, translating into around Rs 2.46 crore in the Indian currency.

Alef Model A: Expected launch

Alef Aeronautics unveiled the prototype of the 'Model A' flying car in October 2022. The brand has now confirmed that the flying car will launch in 2025.
