Ola is all set to unveil its first electric car in the Indian market on the occasion of 75th Independence Day, August 15, 2022. Recently, Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO of Ola shared a post on Twitter that has a teaser video of its upcoming product.
The brand has already revealed its plan of making electric cars in the near future and tweeted about the same a few months ago. The CEO of Ola , Bhavish Aggarwal post reads as, “Super excited to announce a new product this 15th August! Will also share more about our BIG future plans!!”
Bhavish Aggarwal did not reveal much details about the upcoming product. In June 2022, Ola Electric teased a car, depicting sleeker-looking DRLs with red accents as well as the Ola logo on the front. Expected to be a 4-door sedan, the teaser video revealed the front and rear of the electric car that has a sloping roof line. It is likely to get a long-range battery pack.
According to Aggarwal, the upcoming Ola electric car will be the ‘sportiest car ever built in India’. Other details revealed through the render is the electric car will come equipped with a unique tyre design and a large glass roof.
The brand is yet to reveal information about the specifications of the upcoming electric car, such as range, battery pack and charging time. We will get all these details in the coming days.
Currently, Ola is looking for 1,000 acres of land to set up a facility for manufacturing electric four-wheelers. This factory will be quite bigger than the current factory located in Hosur, building Ola S1 Pro electric scooters.
