Thinking electric? Tesla is offering Rs 3 lakh extra on old ICE cars with Model Y!
Tesla has announced a new exchange-led offer on the Model Y. The carmaker has announced a new “EV Switch & Save Program” across its social media handles. Under this scheme, buyers can get an exchange bonus of up to Rs 3 lakh over the value of their petrol or diesel car when purchasing the Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive variant.
The offer is available to customers who exchange any existing ICE vehicle and book an eligible Model Y variant. As part of this programme, the EV manufacturer has teamed up with used-car marketplace Spinny. In addition, Spinny is extending an exclusive benefit of Rs 25,000 to eligible customers. The exchange benefit can also be paired with Tesla’s financing plan, which requires a down payment of Rs 6 lakh and offers monthly EMIs starting at Rs 49,000.
To further sweeten the deal, Tesla is including a complimentary wall connector with every Model Y sold under this programme. This allows owners to charge their vehicle at home.
Niraj Singh, Founder and CEO, Spinny, said: “This partnership is about making the shift to electric simple and rewarding for Indian consumers.”
There are, however, a few conditions attached. The exchange bonus applies only to select versions and colour options of the Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive. Customers must place their orders and complete delivery by March 31, 2026, to be eligible. The company has clarified that the scheme cannot be combined with other offers unless officially approved.
In terms of performance, Tesla claims the Model Y offers a range of up to 500 km, while the Long Range variant delivers up to 622 km on a single charge. The standard Model Y can sprint from 0 to 100 kph in 5.9 seconds, with the Long Range doing the same in 5.6 seconds. Both versions have a top speed of 201 kph. Using fast charging, Tesla says around 238 km of range can be added to the standard model and about 267 km to the Long Range in just 15 minutes.
