Following a challenging sixth-place finish last season, down from fourth the year prior, the team, led by French drivers Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly, aims for a resurgence. They will sport two liveries throughout the season, starting with a predominantly pink A524 car for the first eight races, reflecting sponsor BWT's colors before transitioning back to Alpine's signature blue.

Matt Harman, the technical director, emphasized the comprehensive overhaul of the car, leaving no area unexplored to maximize its potential throughout the season. Team principal Bruno Famin, in his second year at the helm, stressed the necessity for improvement in all aspects.

While acknowledging their Renault engine's power deficit of 20-30 horsepower compared to rivals, as confirmed by the FIA, Famin highlighted opportunities for performance gains on the chassis side. Despite engine development being frozen until 2026, Famin expressed confidence in optimizing other areas such as integration, software, and cooling to ensure a competitive car on race day. Ultimately, Famin emphasized the importance of overall car performance in scoring points, regardless of engine limitations.
