Brazil Moto GP: Bezzecchi triumphs again, Aprilia seals 1-2
Marco Bezzecchi emerged victorious at the Brazil Grand Prix, marking his fourth consecutive win. The VR46 rider secured his first Grand Prix podium of the season, while Marquez had to settle for fourth. Jorge Martin completed a historic 1-2 finish for Aprilia.
Starting strong on race day, Bezzecchi made a perfect getaway to grab the early lead, setting the tone for what turned into a controlled performance at the front. Behind him, Fabio Di Giannantonio slotted into second from pole position, while Marc Marquez held third in the opening laps. Jorge Martin and Pedro Acosta were quick to make progress, with Acosta jumping from ninth to fifth early on.
As the race unfolded, Bezzecchi steadily built a gap at the front. The battle behind him intensified, particularly when Di Giannantonio attempted an aggressive move on Marquez, forcing both riders wide and allowing Martin to move up into second. From there, the Aprilia rider settled into a strong rhythm, ensuring a one-two finish for the team.
The fight for the final podium spot delivered late drama. Marquez briefly moved into third with a decisive pass, but Di Giannantonio responded immediately, reclaiming the position and holding on until the chequered flag.
Further down the order, Ai Ogura impressed by finishing ahead of Alex Marquez, with Acosta crossing the line in seventh. Fermin Aldeguer marked his return with an eighth-place finish, followed by Johann Zarco and Raul Fernandez completing the top ten. Meanwhile, Francesco Bagnaia and Joan Mir crashed out of the race.
With this result, Bezzecchi takes over the championship lead, while Aprilia also moves to the top of the constructors’ standings. The MotoGP paddock now heads to the Red Bull Grand Prix of the United States next weekend, with momentum firmly on Aprilia’s side. Inputs from ANI.
