After securing the drivers'championship with a win at the Japan GP earlier this month, Max Verstappen has now recorded yet another win this season. The victory at the 2022 United States Grand Prix means that the Red Bull Racing driver has now equaled the record of the highest wins (13) in a single season with Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel.

What's more, Verstappen's win at the Austin GP helped his team Red Bull Racing seal the 2022 Formula 1 Championship - their first constructors’ title since 2013. Having secured the lead at the start, Max Verstappen was out of the drama happening behind his Red Bull, looking set for a comfortable win at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA).

Meanwhile Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton are still waiting for the first victory of the season. The seven-time World Champion finished the race on second, with Verstappen having to overtake him with just 6 laps remaining after a slow pit stop. Scuderia Ferrari's Charles Leclerc completed the podium at the US GP, while his teammate Carlos Sainz was knocked out of the race after a clash with George Russell.
