Reise Moto’s TraceRad tyres tested: Track confidence for everyday riders?

I’m slowly getting familiar with the CoASTT High Performance Centre in Coimbatore after a few visits, and my latest trip was for Reise Moto’s newly launched radial tyres. This time, we had the option to hop on the saddle of either a Duke 390 or a race-spec RC 390. We chose the RC 390 for a 15-minute session to put these tyres to the test. While I took it easy on the first few laps, the adrenaline really kicked in as I pushed the bike harder, all thanks to the confidence-inspiring grip of the steel radials. Here’s a quick review of the tyres based on my observations during a short yet fun run on the track.

Let's start with the basics. Reise Moto’s TraceRad tyres are built using zero-degree steel belt technology, which is supposed to offer superior precision, handling, and durability. But do they live up to the hype? Well, I had a limited window on the track to judge, but a few things became immediately clear.

First, straight-line stability was rock solid. Whether accelerating hard on the straights or braking aggressively into corners, the tyres hugged the ground precisely. Even when I leaned the RC 390 into sharper corners, the rear tyre in particular offered excellent stability, giving me the confidence to push further. There were a few moments when the front tyre made me slightly nervous, especially when I leaned a bit more aggressively, but it performed well each time. We were told, during the unveiling, that these tyres are engineered for higher lean angles - and they never made me doubt their grip. That said, on-road performance shouldn’t bring any concerns regarding stability on highway cruising at all.


What really impressed me was the grip over mixed conditions. The track wasn’t spotless as some sections had debris, and the pit lane was even a bit wet. Despite this, the tread patterns hugged the tarmac beautifully. I didn’t experience any sudden slips or loss of traction. This kind of all-around performance is a big win for Indian roads, where conditions can change quickly.

Now, a 15-minute session on a track isn’t enough to judge a tyre’s long-term durability, but Reise Moto claims these TraceRad tyres are designed to last. They’ve paired natural and synthetic rubbers for enhanced durability, and the tyres come with a six-year manufacturing warranty, so that’s a good sign.

On the pricing front, the rear tyre is priced at Rs 6,199, and the front goes for Rs 5,199. It’s a pretty competitive price point, especially considering that these tyres are track-ready but still street-friendly. They’ve been designed for some of the most popular bikes in India, including the KTM Duke series, TVS Apache RR310, and even the Triumph Speed 400.

While I can’t speak for long-term use, my initial impressions of the TraceRad tyres are fairly positive. The grip, stability, and cornering confidence were all on point, and if you’re someone who enjoys pushing your bike to its limits, whether on the track or the street, these tyres could be a solid investment.
