Budget 2026 Expectations Highlights: Union Budget 2026 will be presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at a time when the world is facing increasing economic and geopolitical headwinds. Budget 2026 speech will be delivered on February 1, 2026 as part of the Parliament’s Budget session which commences on January 28, 2026. This is perhaps the first time that the Budget will be presented on a Sunday. All eyes are on FM Sitharaman’s Budget for cues on how the Modi government aims to protect the economy, particularly the exports sector from the 50% tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump. Like every year, salaried taxpayers will look at the Budget for additional tax relief and simpler tax compliances, TDS and TCS relief.
