NEW DELHI: Hero MotoCorp on Friday said it will appoint Vikram Kasbekar as acting CEO, effective May, as incumbent Niranjan Gupta moves on after spending eight years with the company. The company announced a series of organisational changes, while also carving out EV & Emerging Mobility Business Unit (EMBU) as a separate entity.

With Gupta deciding to step down with effect from April 30, Kasbekar - currently ED (operations) - will take charge as the interim CEO. "Niranjan's leadership has been pivotal in steering the company towards new frontiers. I wish him the very best and all the success for his future," Hero MotoCorp chairman Pawan Munjal said.

As part of restructuring, Ram Kuppuswamy, chief procurement officer, will assume an expanded role of chief operations officer, manufacturing, while Ashutosh Varma, national sales head (India business unit) will be the chief business officer from May 1.

Hero Moto also announced that EMBU will be a fully independent and empowered unit, effective Feb 1, 2025, under the mentorship of Munjal.
