NEW DELHI: India's largest utility vehicle maker Mahindra & Mahindra is driving into new business ventures. As part of plans to spread its business, the group is now planning to enter the branded industrial generator market besides providing logistics solutions to call centres and schools.The gensets would be marketed to industrial houses and can also be used to power mobile towers.
"We have been supplying industrial engines to several firms across the globe.
With the volumes in this business growing, we are planning to introduce branded industrial gensets ourselves,"Mahindra & Mahindra MD Anand Mahindra said.Sources said M&M is also open to joining hands with a genset supplier for this venture. Sources said it is also exploring the option of hiving off its transport solutions business into a separate firm and convert into a complete logistics service provider.
