10 new Vande Bharat Express trains! Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday flagged off ten new Vande Bharat Express trains in Ahmedabad. Vande Bharat Express trains by Indian Railways are the face of new age travel offered by the national transporter. Vande Bharat Express trains are all air-conditioned chair car services with 8 or 16 coaches. The semi-high speed trains are self-propelled train sets with a driver cabin at each end and with “world-class” comforts for passengers.
Vande Bharat Express was first introduced by Indian Railways in 2019 as a prototype train set for faster travel. Since then several Vande Bharat Express trains with many improvements have been launched. The train boasts of faster acceleration and deceleration, hence reducing the time taken to cover the distance between two destinations. It also has aircraft style toilets, ambient lighting, personalised reading lights, automatic interconnecting doors, fully sealed gangways for easy movement between coaches, automatic entry and exit doors, European style seats, modern luggage racks and more.
Indian Railways is now looking to roll out a sleeper version of the Vande Bharat Express trains for overnight travel. A prototype of that is being manufactured by BEML in Bengaluru and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw recently inaugurated its car body.
10 New Vande Bharat Express Trains: List of Routes
PM Modi flagged off ten new Vande Bharat Express trains on the following routes:1. Lucknow - Dehradun
2. Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central
3. New Jalpaiguri-Patna
4. Patna- Lucknow
5. Khajuraho- Delhi (Nizamuddin)
6. Puri-Visakhapatnam
7. Kalaburagi – Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru
8. Ranchi-Varanasi
9. Mysuru- Dr. MGR Central (Chennai)
10. Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam
The Prime Minister will also flag off the extension of four Vande Bharat trains.
- Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat is now being extended to Prayagraj
- Thiruvananthapuram- Kasargod Vande Bharat is being extended till Mangaluru
- Ahmedabad-Jamnagar Vande Bharat is being extended till Dwarka
- Ajmer - Delhi Sarai Rohilla Vande Bharat is being extended till Chandigarh
PM Modi inaugurates more railway projects:PM Modi also initiated the operation of freight trains on the Dedicated Freight Corridor from various locations including New Khurja Jn, Sahnewal, New Rewari, New Kishangarh, New Gholvad, and New Makarpura.
Furthermore, he inaugurated 50 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras at Railway Stations, providing affordable and high-quality generic medicines to the public.
Additionally, the Prime Minister unveiled 51 Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminals, facilitating seamless movement of goods across different transportation modes.
Moreover, he laid the foundation stone for various railway workshops, loco sheds, pit lines/coaching depots, the Phaltan-Baramati New line, and electric traction system upgradation work. He also dedicated two new sections of the Dedicated Freight Corridor: the New Khurja to Sahnewal (401 Rkm) section of the Eastern DFC and the New Makarpura to New Gholvad section (244 Rkm) of the Western DFC. Additionally, he inaugurated the Western DFC's Operation Control Center (OCC) in Ahmedabad.
