Rajiv Mehra gets another term as IATO President
NEW DELHI: Travel industry veteran Rajiv Mehra has been re-elected unopposed as president of Indian Association of Tour Operators. His term will be for another two years. Along with Mehra, all executive committee members in his team have also and will also have a tenure of two years each.
Mehra said: “Tourism has just started recovering but inbound is still way below the 2019 level. Many of our members had suffered badly in the pandemic. It shall be our endeavour to help them to revive back. We also need to work closely with the government as India this year has G 20 presidency and there is keen thrust on showcasing different destinations so as to boost tourism. Besides, we would keep reaching out to the government to give our sector Industry status and lower the overall taxation so as to make our country an attractive destination vis a vis the neighbouring countries”.
