Sovereign Gold Bonds Series IV (2023-24): The latest tranche of Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGBs) for the 2023-24 series is now available for subscription, marking the final opportunity for investors to participate in this year's offering.
According to ET, from February 12 to February 16, 2024, interested subscribers have a limited window to secure their investment. The allotment of bonds will take place on February 21 for successful applications.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will announce the issuance of SGB series for the following fiscal year.
Sovereign Gold Bonds Series IV 2023-24: Issue price and discountsInvestors eyeing the latest SGB tranche, known as Series IV 2023-24, will find the issue price set at Rs 6,263 per gram of gold. Notably, each unit of SGB corresponds to one gram of gold. For those applying online and opting for digital payment, the RBI offers a discount of Rs 50 per gram, bringing the effective issue price down to Rs 6,213 per gram.

The nominal value of the bond, determined by the average gold price over the last three working days before the subscription period (February 7 to February 9, 2024), stands at Rs 6,263 per gram. Collaboratively, the government and the Reserve Bank offer a discount of Rs 50 per gram for online investors who pay digitally, reducing the issue price to Rs 6,213 per gram.
