SpiceJet
has clocked the highest industry
OTP

On-time performance
) and PLF (
Passenger load factor
) for the month of December 2016 as per the statistics released by
DGCA
(director general of civil aviation).
Officials of the airlines claimed that this is the third month in a row that the airline has topped the OTP charts. The airline also topped the PLF metrics for the industry at 93.7 per cent and has garnered over 90 per cent PLF for 21 months in a row.
During December 2016, SpiceJet registered the highest OTP of 70 per cent much ahead of all its peers, officials said. The airline also topped OTP for individual metros namely Delhi and Hyderabad and it is the third consecutive month when SpiceJet has achieved the highest OTP at Delhi airport, they added.
“SpiceJet has ensured that it maintains its impeccable operational standards even in harsh weather conditions to continuously emerge as the best on-time performing airline. Not only have we scored a hat-trick with the best OTP for the third consecutive month in a row, we have also recorded over 90 per cent passenger load factor (PLF) for 21 successive months,” said GP Gupta, Chief Administrative Officer, SpiceJet.
The airline operated an average 331 daily flights and carried almost 12.10 lakh passengers during the month of December 2016 whereas the number of passengers carried by the airline for the year 2016 stood at 126.74 lakh.
