It looks like the trouble never ends for Gautam Adani’s empire – and much of the trouble has its roots in some fancy accounting work that was probably intended to get the group out of paying taxes but has instead landed it in hot water.
Now, a network of investigative journalists, the Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), has thrown fresh fuel on a smouldering fire. The OCCRP says it shared exclusive documents with two international publications – the Financial Times and The Guardian. The documents include “files from multiple tax havens, bank records, and internal Adani Group emails”.
