NEW DELHI: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchane (NSE) have confirmed on Monday that stock markets will remain open for trading on Saturday, February 1, when finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman will announce the Union Budget for fiscal year 2025-26.
Both the exchanges in separate circulars said that trading will be conducted during normal hours from 9.15 am to 3.30 pm.
Earlier, the markets were operational on Saturday on February 1, 2020 and February 28, 2015, when Union Budgets were presented.
Since 2001, when the Budget presentation time shifted from 5 pm to 11 am, stock markets have always been open during the standard trading hours.
