BSF in Tripura facilitates return of 17 Indian workers from B’desh

Agartala: BSF in Tripura on Thursday facilitated the return of 17 Indian workers from strife-torn Bangladesh.A BSF release said the 17 persons, all employees of AFCONS Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, were engaged in the construction of a four-lane 52km road from Akhaura (Tripura) to Kishoreganj (Bangladesh).“On Wednesday night, the IG of BSF Tripura Frontier received a call from the Indian workers seeking help,” the release said, adding that they were stranded in their camp at Ramrail in the neighbouring country. The workers were en route to ICP Akhaura from Dhaka when the request was made to BSF for facilitating their safe movement back home.BSF contacted the nodal officer of Border Guard Bangladesh and both acted in tandem to evacuate the workers. 17 Indian workers stranded in Bangladesh brought back from Tripura border: BSF

Seventeen Indian workers employed by AFCONS Infrastructure Private Limited in Bangladesh were safely brought back amid local turmoil. They were constructing a road from Akhaura to Kishoreganj. The BSF, in coordination with the Border Guard Bangladesh, facilitated their safe return through the Tripura border, ensuring their safe passage and customs clearance.

DG BSF visits Tripura amid unrest in Bangladesh

The Director General of Border Security Force, Daljit Singh Chawdhary, reviewed the security and operational measures along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Tripura amidst political unrest in Bangladesh. The visit included briefings, inspections, and meetings with senior officials. Chawdhary emphasized vigilance and community cooperation for maintaining peace and preventing escalation of tensions.

Bangladesh: BSF meets people of border villages

The BSF conducted meetings with state officials and border villagers in West Bengal to bolster security amid unrest in Bangladesh. BSF officials, including DG Daljit Singh Chawdhary, reviewed the situation at the Petrapole border. A high alert was issued, advising villagers to limit night movements and closing shops by 9 pm.
