Candidates file papers for W Tripura seat

Agartala: Candidates of both the ruling BJP-IPFT-TMP and the opposition Congress-CPM filed their nomination papers for the West Tripura Lok Sabha constituency on Wednesday. The BJP nominee for bypoll-bound Ramnagar seat also filed his papers on the day. The BJP Lok Sabha candidate Biplab Kumar Deb and bypoll candidate Dipak Majumder took out a colourful procession before submitting their papers. While Deb is a former chief minister, Majumder is the mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation. The rally started from Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan led by CM Manik Saha along with his Haryana counterpart Nayab Singh Saini, state BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee and former Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, and TIPRA Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, reports Biswendu Bhattacharjee.Meanwhile, state Congress unit’s president Ashish Kumar Saha led their procession from the same venue in the afternoon along with CPM state secretary Jitendra Chaudhury, Congress working committee members, and MLA Sudip Roy Barman.
