Tripura CM highlights connectivity initiatives

Agartala: Tripura chief minister Manik Saha, during the Niti Aayog meeting held in New Delhi on Saturday, expressed his belief that the discussions and outcomes of the Governing Council meeting would significantly contribute to strengthening cooperative federalism in the country. The meeting was presided over by the Prime Minister.Saha informed the gathering about the state’s launch of LAKSHYA 2047, a vision document aimed at transforming Tripura into a fully developed state. “We have taken several transformative steps, including enhancing connectivity by making Tripura the gateway to the NE region through Prime Minister’s HIRA Plus Model, increasing capital expenditure, facilitating ease of doing business and living, introducing e-office at the Gram panchayat level, and implementing the Beneficiary Management System (BMS) for direct benefit transfer in state-run welfare schemes,” he said.The CM also mentioned the establishment of good governance department and the State Institution for Transformation, which were created in accordance with the NITI Aayog’s mandate.

Ten states and UTs were absent from Niti Aayog's 9th governing council meeting chaired by PM Modi. Despite these absences, Niti Aayog's CEO highlighted states' progress on vision documents for Viksit Bharat 2047. The PM emphasized attracting FDI, ease of doing business, governance, and repealing unnecessary laws. The meeting circulated an approach paper on the 'Vision for Viksit Bharat.'
