Saha govt to fill up 2,000 positions in various depts

Agartala: The cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister Manik Saha on Friday resolved to create and fill approximately 2,000 positions across various departments, reports Biswendu Bhattacharjee.Govt spokesperson Sushanta Chowhdury announced that the cabinet approved recruitment of 198 junior engineers through Tripura Public Service Commission. For the education sector, the administration approved recruitment of 1,566 teachers at elementary level, including both undergraduate and graduate positions. The Teachers Recruitment Board Tripura will oversee examinations for 1099 under-graduate and 456 graduate teaching positions.

Tripura cabinet approved the recruitment of around 2,000 positions across various departments, including 1,566 elementary teachers and 198 junior engineers. Additionally, 112 special educators and 151 warders were also sanctioned. The proposal to transfer Pushpavanta Palace to the Taj group for conversion into a heritage hotel is pending the Chief Minister's final decision.

UGC Approves Flexible Degree Durations for Undergraduate Students with Accelerated and Extended Programmes

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has approved new guidelines allowing higher education institutions to offer Accelerated Degree Programmes (ADP) and Extended Degree Programmes (EDP). Students can now complete their degrees faster or extend the duration based on their abilities. These degrees will be considered equivalent to standard-duration degrees for academic and employment purposes.
