NEW DELHI: Agra Police rescued a four-year-old boy after a late-night
encounter that left two kidnappers injured in the Etmaduddaula area on Friday night. The boy was kidnapped on Friday afternoon while going to his grandmother's house, and the police arrested two suspects while two others remain at large.
The arrested suspects, Sabir and Satyaprakash, sustained gunshot wounds during the encounter with police.
ACP Piyushkant Rai revealed that the kidnapping was orchestrated by the boy's uncle, Gagan, who planned it with three accomplices. The child, Jai, was lured away while walking to his grandmother's residence near his home in Garhi Chandni.
The kidnappers contacted Jai's father, Sonu, a jeweller, demanding a ransom of Rs 2.5 lakh shortly after the abduction.
Police formed multiple teams to investigate after receiving the complaint. The kidnappers, fearing arrest, left the boy near his house around 9 pm and fled the scene.
"The boy has been safely handed over to his family," confirmed the ACP.
Police are actively searching for the remaining two accused, Gagan and Aakash, who are still at large.
