AMU vice chancellor professor Tariq Mansoor, who inaugurated the facility on Friday said, “The new centre will ensure high-quality diabetes care and easy supply of insulin for those in need, as a lot of people, most of whom are heavily reliant on the public healthcare system, will have access to it.”

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology and Novo Nordisk Education Foundation in Bengaluru has been signed for this.

The VC stressed that JNMC caters to a large number of diabetic patients who will benefit from the new centre.

Professor M U Rabbani, dean, faculty of medicine, said that proper management of type 1 diabetes is crucial and lack of it can cause chronic complications.
